How save easily ink cartridges ?
OK, buy original Canon, HP and so on cartridges and you go bankruptcy no time.
One secret is don't buy cheapest printer what cost 20/30/40 USD/CAD/EUR/GBP
buy model third or second high priced model. Why ?
Even low - mid - high end printers even may use same cartridges, lower models
EATS INK.
Buy only
single ink systems, because
tricolor cartridges there remain inks that you can't use even
one or two inks goes empty.
Buy single inks cartridges or what ?
Both HP and Canon sells cartridges single and multi-pack. Usually Multi-Pack comes cheaper to buy.

On Europe is legally produce 'alternative' cartridges. Newer laser and ink cartridges has so called 'chip'. There is also on marked 'chip reset devices so you FUEL IN empty original cartridges.
Newer printers has also 'meter' show color levels, even you may fuel cartridges, printer may
refuse using them because chip.
If you don't like think too much filling cartridges buy alternative produced. I have lot's experience

Even we had telling ink stuff, usually all places sells laser stuff too. If you wonder which new printer
choose if you like use alternative sources, Canon is easy. HP and Epson had lots DRM stuff on their
firmware (inside software on printer what puts magic working). All printers firmware may includes
suicide software what had counters, when XXXXXX prints, printer had working X years printer stop working, specially HP had made this kind stuff, like timers on printer MB.
There is color balance differences original and alternative cartridges. Usually cheaper price made right choose but everyone had own taste, this come on photos and artist printing.
