Recycle your old inkjet / laser cartridges

Recycle your old inkjet / laser cartridges

Don't throw old used Canon, Epson or HP Ink cartridges away. Even you aren't
interested fill them, they are cash for someone and junkyard they are hundred of years.

On Finland one store buys HP & Canons cartridges: Print&Refill
http://print-refill.com/

Because original parts has value, int tank are just empty and fill them and cartridge
are just like new. If you have time, filling yourself  or give job someone else
who fill them for you. Or just sell old cartridges and make some easy money.

Alternatives:
(Finland)

#InkClub http://www.inkclub.com/

Also laser printers has this option, buy alternative parts or fill empty laser cartridges.
NOTE: INK filling is safe, but because laser 'color' are powder form, is safer that
filling would be done 'safe environment' what aren't home, kitchen, office.

DRM

Every cartridge has own tricks "chip", actually PIC (Microcontroller = minicomputer = system on chip) or ASIC.
Original cartridge manufacturer programs there counter what tells ink levels, manufacturing day,
exp day what is 1 - 2 years for that, serial number, factory settings, DRM key and so on. Usually
chips can be reprogrammed again (original manufacturer recycle program), how this is
perhaps HP biggest secrets, same as Canon or Epson. Epson has it's legend hard reprogramming
and same goes HP too. Usually cartridge can be refilled 2 - 12 times.

What modern printers has there are 'Ink / color indicators" on lcd screen on printer or/and
same information somehow picked up printers admin software , but cartridges usually
hasn't t have indicators on tank, cartridge chip memory block, same method as 'public
telephones cards have, cheap memory card, with some ASIC  security functions.
Also printers own motherboards has own DRM tricks, chip keeps own 'database' used
cartridges serial numbers & ink levels. Modern print drivers likes 'Updates' what actually
reports serial numbers back, DRM stuff printer manufacturer and back. So even you use
'recycled' cartridge it's can be empty/used if you take updates in.

This cartridge thing is same on ink and laser printers.
